I’ve been thinking a lot about your allusion to the old philosopher whom you paraphrased in our phone conversation: “with great power, comes great responsibility”. You are obviously a man who has done his homework, and who could understand my own experiences. Since then I have read your book and found it very interesting and compelling. When we spoke, I told you that I did not have any information that I could share with you about anything. During your brief telephone interview with me you asked me to assist you with the research for “The Oz Factors” book you were writing because you suspected that I might know something that would help your investigation into the possibility that extraterrestrial beings may have influenced the history of Earth. The last time I spoke to you was about eight years ago. Somehow it seems like a fitting contrast to the subject of this letter and the documents you will find enclosed in this envelope. Scroll down to review who is (and isn’t) returning for Community the Movie, then hit the comments with your reactions to the long-awaited news. All six seasons are currently available on Hulu, Netflix and Prime Video. The announcement also confirms that the original run of Community will be available to stream on Peacock at an as-yet-unspecified date, as part of a non-exclusive streaming deal. The press release only states that Community the Movie derives “from the TV series that predicted its own movie,” making it “the least predictable movie of a TV series that referenced a lot of movies and TV.” Plot details are being kept under wraps for now. “We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences.” “‘Six seasons and a movie’ started out as a cheeky line from Community‘s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy,” NBC Universal Television’s Chairman of Entertainment Susan Rovner said in a statement. The movie is slated to be released in 2023. They’ll executive-produce alongside McHale, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster. Series creator Dan Harmon is writing the film with former series scribe Andrew Guest (whose credits include fan-favorite episodes “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons” and “A Fistful of Paintballs”). (In response to the news, Brown tweeted: “It’s happening! Congrats, #Community fans! You guys did this!”) Original cast members Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase are not attached. The feature-length followup will reunite stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. (For those keeping score at home, it’s Community: 1, The Cape: 0.) Peacock on Friday announced that it has greenlit Community the Movie, seven years after the cult classic’s 2015 series finale. Community is about to fulfill its #SixSeasonsAndAMovie prophecy.
